Supporting the community is also a central tenet of Accidental Cajun Experiences. We are committed to giving back to the community that has given so much to us. And we want to start with the next generation of amazing New Orleans musicians. That's why we are proud to announce our partnership with Roots of Music, an incredible nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the youth of New Orleans through music education, academic support, and mentorship.

Our Commitment

With every tour booked, Accidental Cajun Experiences will donate $10 of our profits to Roots of Music. This contribution directly supports their mission to provide free musical education to local children between the ages of 9 and 14.

Why Roots of Music?

Roots of Music was established on the principle that music can transform lives. Founded by Derrick Tabb, award winning snare drummer for the Rebirth Brass Band, Roots offers a comprehensive program that not only teaches music but also provides academic support to ensure students succeed in all areas of life. Their programs run year-round, five days a week, and provide over 100 students with instruments, uniforms, and transportation at no cost to their families.

The impact of Roots of Music extends beyond individual success stories. By instilling discipline, teamwork, and pride in young musicians, the program helps to keep kids off the streets, in school, and on a path to success. Their alumni go on to excel in music and other fields, becoming positive contributors to their community and keepers of the New Orleans musical tradition.
